Here is an older entry that resonates with me this morning...

Rebel Angel's Wishlist
I should've gotten up this morning and stepped out into space, taken the earth in my hands and given it a good shake.

i should've moved the starving to the gardens and the over fed to the deserts. i should've drained the floods and filled the droughts.

I should've righted wrongs and erased painful memories. I should've let the dead have their say on satellite television. I should've given soldiers the day off. the year off. the Eternity off.

Beggars would be millionaires. the bloodthirsty and afflicted would wake up with clarity; their grief and deeds would feel like a baffeling hangover.

I would heal my own longing. I would undo my own still ness. I would unleash what I know to be the best that I can give the world.

and then,Id climb into my chariot, set the sky on fire with an easy amber glow...

Just to make everyone stop. and notice. this spinning ride.

Peace

"... we die to each other daily. What we know of other people is only our memory of the moments during which we knew them. And they have changed since then."

Fema....

Ive read a great article about Fema and how under George Bush...the organization has been stripped down budget wise. Fema is being swallowed entirely by Homeland Security.

Under Bill Clinton Fema was re-focused on Natural Disasters since America has extreme weather (always has always will..like most countries). Under Mr. Bill Fema was beginning to develop into something critical and useful. They were asking the right questions and coming up with solutions. But as we found out here in Virginia with Hurricane Isabel's destruction Fema has become a bound and gagged minister.

Fema is being held hostage by the one element that got GW back in office: Fear of Terrorit attacks.

We need Fema. Fema makes sense. Having the Former Director of Fema oversee the operations because he has millions of dollars tied up in the contractors that work for fema does not make sense.

We need Fema focused on Recovery and Prevention. that makes sense. The Department of Homeland Security, which seems only to serve as a glut on our economy, needn't be trying to handle Natural Disasters.

Common Sense is all I am asking for.

and I am asking for too much apparently.

With Every Wish for an Honorable Peace...-thomas paine

be well everyone
