I taped and watched the 2nd half of Angles in America last night. It's good to be reminded of the advent of AIDS awareness. So many people died and the Red Cross sat on its ass and Reagan sat on his ass....I don't ever remember even knowing it existed until 1987.
By then...hundreds if not thousands had died. Needlessly. This piece...this film..which is a play originally....was written about a time of stolwart Ignorance. A time I am afraid we will return to if the Republicans gain more power. If I remember correctly...Bush's first order of biz once in office was to deny Africa money for AIDS Education....what a fucking sleeze. Then...Then..he had the Audacity to ask for help from them for his manufactured "war on terrorism".
If Dean is our only alternative then Dean gets my support. Anything to keep Bush out. But you know that isn't enough. We have to stay on the next president. We have to make him listen. We have to make our voices LOUD. Its a new time.
Time. Humanity keeps pounding out all the same cycles. despite the Time that has passed. Despite our ability to Create.
"The world only spins forward"...I can only hope so. Hope. Faith. Forward.
